The Hundred Heroines project is a timely, exciting opportunity to celebrate the contributions of living female photographers, educators, gallerists and other visionaries. By raising their visibility, the project has the potential to shift perceptions, creating a more supportive environment for future generations in the field.
Dr Lucy Soutter is an artist, art historian and critic. Her work focuses on questions of value and meaning in art and photography. She has written for publications including Afterimage, Aperture, Source, Frieze and 1,000 Words and is the author of Why Art Photography? (Routledge, 2nd ed. 2018). She is the Course Leader of the Photography Arts MA at the University of Westminster.
